CFPA ART 2
for this piece i chose to create a man running through the fields of book pages, the pain of the author draining down the page as rain. His umbrella protects him from the negative thoughts of the author. i used ink, book pages, and black acrylic paint to create this peace. i drew the man, cut him out, painted over him and glued him down to the book pages to be sure he stood out compared to the pages.
This piece was based around the cfpa dance program here at colgan. After speaking with a few dancers they always talk about how relaxed they feel when they dance, that they feel like everything is okay, similar to when you’re in a happy dream but it’s real life. I chose to make the dancer sitting in the clouds of her dream land, using acrylic paint and layering it to give a nice cloud effect. i used acrylic paint, pastels, and glitter to create the dance. i chose to leave the face blank to show a sense of mystery and to really push the dream theme, whenever you dream you don’t really see someone’s face.
